I.V.I. Solution Geothermal Start-up Seeks Partnership
Submitted by Vladimir Entin — The Company begins Geothermal Start-up Project on base of the new structure of horizontal ground-source exchanger for geothermal heat pumps, which drastically increases (2-3 times) exchangers extraction power and expands the boundaries of rational use of horizontal exchangers. Application of the exchanger structure is especially effective in arid and semi-arid areas. The Company seeks Partnership for comparative tests of heat pumps with standard and developed exchanger structures, and for following commercialization of the development. Companies interested to participate in the Project can contact with Vladimir Entin, I.V.I. Solution, by e-mail: vlad.entin@gmail.com

Drilling Down: How Legacy and New Research Data Can Advance Geothermal Development (Oct. 2)
Submitted by Arizona Geological Survey -– This is a free workshop at GRC’s Annual Conference on how the National Geothermal Data System (NGDS) – a free, online, digital data network – can drive geothermal projects and RD&D forward. NGDS currently serves up more than 5.1 million data points in 408 layers and 247 web services; and we are still growing! The workshop will: 1) demo NGDS’s new user interface; 2) glean strategies for discovering and capturing data; 3) meet the NGDS development team and provide your input into how best to serve up geothermal data for the entire geothermal community. Where & When: Geothermal Resources Council Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, NV October 2, 2013 in the Grand Ballroom – Room 118, MGM Grand Hotel 2pm-5pm

Reserve your space at this free session by completing this Google Form.  Please bring your laptop to the workshop to fully engage with the data.  And join the workshop conversation on Facebook, Twitter #NGDS, and LinkedIn.

RFI for Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composite Manufacturing, EERE (due Sept. 26)
The Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) announces the release of a Request for Information (RFI) on Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composite Manufacturing.  The purpose of this RFI is to solicit feedback from industry, academia, research laboratories, government agencies, and other stakeholders on issues related to fiber reinforced polymer composite manufacturing, specifically for continuous or discontinuous carbon and glass fiber composites with thermoset or thermoplastic matrix materials.  AMO seeks information through this RFI to understand the cross-cutting manufacturing challenges that, if addressed, could reduce life cycle energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), support further adoption of clean energy systems, and increase U.S. manufacturing competitiveness.

This is solely a RFI and not a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA).  EERE is not accepting applications.  Responses to the RFI must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. ET on September 26, 2013. To learn more about the RFI and how to submit information, please read the announcement.
