Kenya: Energy Secretary Expects 410 MW of New Geo Power Capacity in 2014

This week in Kenya, local news reports the expected timeline on adding new geothermal capacity this year. “We expect to add 140 MW to the grid by March or April and 170 MW in July from Olkaria and a further 100 MW from Menengai in the course of this year. This will be at a low cost of 7 US cents,” Davis Chirchir, Cabinet Secretary Energy and Petroleum, was quoted.
